A Word That Changes by Country
Frijoles is the most widely understood word for beans across Latin America, but you’ll also hear judías in Spain and habichuelas in parts of the Caribbean. This kind of regional variation is common in food vocabulary specifically. If a word sounds slightly different than what you learned, it’s very likely just a regional preference, not a mistake.
